Gift Art for my good friend and awesome artist!

I know  that this is nothing compared to the amazing piece that you made me.
I will draw a full-body picture for you soon.
I just wanted to draw an Akita and then your character came to my mind. xD
I also wanted to try a new style. Maybe try and shift to semi-realistic.

AND it was an EPIC fail. xD
I couldn't make him look like an Akita and the style is some mashed up...idk.
Anyway, this is what I could come up with in an hour and I am sure I couldn't have
made it look any better even if I spent another hour.

If any of you have any ideas on what brushes to use to do realistic fur, then pls tell me.
